What’s In Your Heart?

Sweetness, anger, love, or maybe some bitterness? Proverbs 4:23 says, Above all else, guard your heart, FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FLOWS FROM IT. In Matthew 12:34 Jesus says “…out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Again, ask yourself, what is in my heart? The heart is where our emotions live. The goal is to have an open heart where love can flow freely out to others as well as to be able to receive love into our heart. Over the years one can tend to accumulate “undelt-with” pains and hurts from their childhood, their relationships, their marriage, or a traumatic circumstance. This accumulation of pains and hurts builds up over time and create hard walls within. This reminds me of building blocks kids play with and each block is a specific hurt or pain, and over time they are so high one cannot feel anything but the emotional pain pent up in their heart.  Whether you know it or not this pain is reflected in all that you say and do in all areas of your life.  It effects your family, friends, your job, your finances, your health, etc in a very unhealthy way. To you it’s a defense mechanism but it’s actually you shutting yourself off from the world which you live in. That is not what God intended for you.

I have good news for you. You don’t have to live like this anymore. God wants to free you. He wants to take you out of your past and take your past out of you! He says, “…I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; He will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh! You see you can have a clean heart that is open so everything that flows from it is from a place of love. Let me show you how it’s done.
